I believe this is:
Turkey
5 Kurush
KM 737
the year of ascension is 1293 and I think (if I am reading it correctly) the regnal year is 11 which I think is 1885 which would be under Abdul Hamid II. I don't have the 19th centurt Krause with me here at work so I don't have a 'value'

weavus135; Looks like your info jives with that given on the one that just sold on ebay - thanks for that fioti.

Just knowing what the coin is (in english terms) goes a long way in learning more about it.

Thank you both.

And the bottom picture is rotated 180 degrees. The 3 straight lines of the Toughra should be towards the top.

Thank you both on the orientation correction latman & weavus. I figured I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right based on the obverse .

Weavus & latman, you are quite welcome to call me more than 'number challenged' when it comes to this coin. If you can determine ANY numbers on the reverse of this coin, you are far ahead of me in the game ! It's all Turkish to me .

Thanks again for your assistance.

"Blessings be upon thee" latman
I was looking forward (not) to a weekend of cataloging Egyptian and Turkish coins. Now it's going to be that much easier if I plug in the extra VDU.
