I would go back and let him make it right. Your spending your hard earned money at his place of business. Your doing him a favor.

Yea, I agree. Go back. Tell the truth without anger. It works best.

Had a similar thing happen when I bought a couple of rolls of silver halves for the silver content. I wanted all 90%, they brought out two rolls and there were 4 or 5 40% halves in the lot. Of course I didnt check until I got home which was my fault, but it was a quick lesson to check when making purchases of multiple items.

Here is another dealer type story, from another part time dealer, I ordered the same, I casually start looking.. and the dealer gets in a snarl.. I said was just looking, then he looks and takes out three items that were overgraded, guess we just have to be more diligent. Though I read note collectors can be grumpy j/bc
I may go back and try to solve my first problem, but it was a cheap lesson.

Quote: and the dealer gets in a snarl. If he gets offended by you looking at each item, hes either a crappy businessman, or he knows hes over grading and is upset about getting caught.

some dealers will "test" the waters with you, once they find out how much you know, you can become best of friends. I agree with the above statements take them back an find out his reasoning.

Jeepers only a few purchases and both times was taken advantage of. A cheap lesson, will shop around more and take the time to check my purchases, thanks for posts. j/bc

Also, If a dealer starts to get really testy or borderline rude... I ve had no problem in the past canceling any pending transactions, informing him that I do not appreciate his demeanor, and leaving.
As the buyer you do in fact hold all the power.

I hate that! It's like one of the rolls of dimes I searched yesterday. Someone snuck a doctored PMC into the roll. You have to be pretty bad off to have to cheat some one out of 9 cents. Just like those dealers that would rather cheat you than really built up a good clientele. Those people loose in the end no matter how they justify their actions.

Well today went back and exchanged the paper notes for a few in unc, no hassle went smooth, and the dealer got a little more note sales... j
I also went to a few other stores to buy notes, pretty well the same condition though the larger store charged more...
