Nice coin Rob. Looks to be struck off center as well, at least that's what it looks like to me Let's see what others think

I hate to be critical of the coin but the more I look at it the more I want to call it post mint damaged. I truly hope that I am wrong, but there are some things that I am not sure about. Especially the lack of rim detail on the part that protrudes from the 9 o'clock position of the coin. That portion to me appears to have been smashed by something, and I feel that it should be curved upward from the striking process. It is a great error if it is the real seal. And I hope it is.

I think it is damage since the rim is stretched in the area.

i took it out of the case and am trying to fix my camera. it almost looks like there is to much copper to be damaged. and the edge is smooth just like the rest of the coin. the E in cents looks very odd too. like the die was defective. will get more pics if cam gets to working again

IMO this looks like old damage that has since toned over.

That's why I put Looking at it again, if it were OC, it would should show on the coin itself as 5%,10% etc. Not the edge like that. It does look stretched like some thing flattened that area.

I'm not sure an IHC should be any different than a Lincoln Cent. If a clipped planchet is struck centered, it should be contained by the collar, so the outer dimensions would be circular--save for the clip. But maybe something else happened here I'm not considering?

i think I'm going to list it on ebay, and see if I can make a dollar or 2. it came from a dealer so I am going with their opinion for now on clipped. thanks for all the input. rob
