I think it's MD--low relief shearing equally across the date.

Yep, just another machine damaged coin. The machine must have been very loose when your coin was struck.

"poor man's double die" is a term used for abraded die doubling on cents from 1955. It's not even a correct term to use for that year, and I highly - very strongly - encourage it not be spread around to other coins to at least keep confusion to a minimum for newer collectors. Machine Doubling and doubled dies are two completely different things. It helps new collectors when the more experienced collectors know the difference, see the difference, teach the difference, and use the two terms accepted for such coins accordingly. That's the only way new collectors can learn.
