Zee MY friend, we have traveled a long road full of adversity... WE question. things that should not be questioned or have a second point of view... TO THIS I AWARD.....the WHY AWARD.. ..to those who question beyond the given answers, when they don't quite add up... TO THOSE who seek an understanding when the answers contradict themselves... TO to those who continue to ask WHY... ONLY SEEKING UNDERSTANDING.... not to PUT EVERY ONE DOWN but rather to seek understanding.... There is much to learn and much to study....Its a long road and full of adversity...But from it we learn.....

It was determined very early on page #1 of this thread that this was something new..... in reality though, this was determined before this thread even started. Yes, great coin..... great plaque.... BUT...I think that everyone might be forgetting who the true hero really is here: Quote: Im sorry Dave, I guess the excitement got to me. I would still love to see your opinions on the forum. Especially since if it werent for you there is no telling how long this one would have gone unnoticed. I don't know if I would have looked closer at the coin once I got it in hand or not since I was so sure it was a VAM-80 from the pictures My hat is off to SuperDave (as well as to Bryan)..... BUT.... without Dave, this might still be just a high grade vam-80.

Quote: without Dave, this might still be just a high grade vam-80. I totally agree, I was sure it was a VAM-80 from the Obverse markers and even though I would like to think I would have noticed the Reverse die being weird I don't know how long it would have taken to do so because I was really needing a VAM-80 at the time to upgrade the one I already had and was very happy with it being a VAM-80. SD and I had talked about this coin a few months before it was purchased and at that time both of us were pretty sure it was a VAM-80, it wasn't until the bigger pictures were available that the questions came up and since we had both agreed earlier it was a VAM-80 I didn't really pay close attention to the pictures except for to make sure the Obverse matched up

Bryan, Morgans Dad could not have said it any better for all of us. You have my heart-felt and most sincere congratulations. You have helped me (and many others) through my first struggling attempts at learning this hobby. You're in the record books now and way to go !

Looky Looky http://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/C...=2553949-003 I still can't add it to my registry set because there is no slot for DPL VAM-85 in the scoring so its telling me this coin isn't available for this slot, but with the VAM-70 in 65 and the VAM-82 in 65 my set is back in #1 again

Quote: my grandfather always told me that 2nd place was nothing but the first loser Very droll..... unless you think about it.... for most situations in life, that is probably quite true. VAM Of The Year must be the big one isn't it? Too bad there isn't one for VAM of the Decade...
