I'm having a blast sorting through a thousand or so AU/MS Jefferson's 1962 to 2010 that I set aside over the years of my 'quest' to fill my humble Whitman 9009 (1938 - 1961).

I'll post a full report on that later ...... but for now the question is saving the Full Step (FS) coins I'm coming across.

I'm now sorting through the decade of 1990's and can tell you for absolute sure that something changed at the US Mint starting in 1987 that made FS Jefferson's much easier to find.

FS coins prior to 1987 are tough to come by ...... whereby FS coins 1987 to date seem more the norm than the exception.

Soooooo .... I've set aside all the 1986 and earlier FS coins I've come across ...... but .....

What do you advise I do with the 'modern' post-1986 FS coins?

Are these worth saving? At what year would you just return them to the wild? Are there any particular post-1986 year/mm whereby an MSFS Jefferson has an actual value above 5 cents?

I'd hate to throw away a valuable coin .....

Thanks for any and all input.

David

I'd hold on to the nice attractive uncs from the later dates.

A few dates you might want to keep even worse grades or conditions like the 1992 is tougher.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

I'd love to take some FS newer ones off of your hands. If only for the purpose of putting them into my Dansco. Send me a message if you'd like :). I'm sure we can work something out.
