Great find! My wife works at a Costco and I work for Home Depot, and we both have been able to aquire silver and some of the new quarters in rolls from both stores! We have been able to order rolls of of halves to search everyonce in a while. There are still some good finds out there!

It seems to me that these coins have accumulated in the bank for some considerable time, because of the silver ones, then they seem to have been forgotten by a previous employee, and forgotten. OK, so long as they are on the bank's books somewhere.
Come a later date, new staff, and no idea why the coins have been lying around, so the bank is quite happy to get rid of what they see as a minor annoying problem, much to your good fortune.
I visited the 'States a couple of years ago and noted the Halves almost never circulate, I guess because folks find them too big and heavy. Such coins wind up languishing in the banks or in the hands of collectors, if they are silver. The larger 50 cent coins such as these circulate as very common coins in Oz.

Now thats what I'm talking about!! Since its saturday night I recommend having more than a few drinks piling up all that silver on the table running your fingers through it and enjoying the sight! Ah but first maybe you should soak them in soapy water to remove that nasty coin smell but remember no rubbing!
