Nice congrats, how long did it take you or how many rolls did you go through? I am going crossed eyed looking for them!

The '98's and '00's may be the more "common" WAM's, but they're still hard and fun to find!

Since starting back in to roll searching in August, this coin was in my 24th $25.00 box. Now if only I could find a 92 CAM.

WAM stands for Wide AM (as in AMERICA)..the distance between A and M is supposed to be almost nil on a correctly minted 98,99,00 but they mistakenly used a proof reverse pattern die which has a noticable seperation between A & M. The 98's and 2000's are fairly common, but the 99 is considered pretty rare. Do a search on Wide AM, pictures will explain better than words.

I have no experience when it comes to WAMs, only what I read on this blog. But is the variation in this Lincoln Penny the spacing between the A and the M in America, that makes it so special?
