Being relatively new to collecting US$ currency, I was just curious why 3 districts (F,G,I) printed the "old style" $5 notes as well as the new "colourized" notes? Can somebody explain the story behind this to me?
Thanks !!

I don't know if only those districts printed them, but I'd have to check. I know they were all east coast banks, because the series H (2008 B+W) are all pretty circulated.

In mid 2006, Hank Paulson was appointed as the Sect of the Treas, so that meant a new series with "2006" as in when it was first authorized. When the colored $5 note was first approved, the original "order" for that series was also authorized in 2006, although later. Thus, there are two types, H and I which are distinct, but both authorized in 2006, though printed and released in different years.
