Their office could be in NC and the warehouse or another location in NY. Given his relatively good feedback I doubt it's a scam.

Where on the auction does it say that the item is from NC?

I don't see anything about North Carolina, either. Fayetteville, NY is a town east of Syracuse.

I used to list for a company that was listed as being in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada...which is where our main office was based but we shipped from Niagara Falls New York. Shipping is much cheaper in the states compared to ship from Canada. With that being said...I see no issues with a seller with good feedback to have a office located away from their shipping warehouse.
Just my 2 cents.

Of course it's a scam - in so far as the rolls being unsearched.

If I had rolls and rolls of unsearched wheats, I would sell them instead of searching....yeah right.

Really? Are we to believe that there is no such thing as an unsearched wheat roll.............YES! Don't waste your money unless you want a butt load of common wheats. Take that money and buy a slabbed (are a raw 100% guaranteed genuine)key date wheat, or a handful of semi-keys.

I've often been tempted to contact this shop about previous offers. the problem I see is that when penny rolls come in a box from a bank today, and there is a wheat on one end, it doesn't mean that they are all wheats. Just like a half dollar roll with a bicentenial on both ends often has other stuff in the middle. Anyone who has played with these "machine wrapped" rolls knows that you can carefully open them up, search through and put them back and roll back up with an end that appears to be untouched.
Wheat cents seem to sell around here for 3 to 4 cents a pop, so a box is worth $75 to $100. I wouldn't pay much more.

also they claim to have 76,300+ wheat cents. but they are selling 33 rolls for $106 here - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...250679612922 and claim to have 166 lots available. 33 x 166 x 50 (cents per roll) is 273,900 or almost 4 times as many as they claim to have. either they have more than the 76,000 - which doesn't seem like much since people sell them by the bag (5000).

I recrimp the edges of rolls at work using my fingers and a letter opener so my bosses don't know I search the coins instead of working doable to recrimp would they sell you a boatload of rolls with only 2 wheats per roll one on each end? doubtful but doable with no refunds what could happen to them good idea for a scam 160 bucks for 25 bucks worth of regular pennies with 100 wheats, common dates on the ends

I wouldn't sell them... but I also wouldn't buy them... Should I find myself in that area, I would certainly swing into the store and ask...

Quote: If I had rolls and rolls of unsearched wheats, I would sell them instead of searching....yeah right. We wouldn't. We've had thousands upon thousands of hoarded wheat cents come across our desk to sell over the years and I can honestly tell you we haven't searched through even as much as one single handful before selling them. I'm not saying they were or weren't searched by someone else 30 years ago, we had no idea, but we sure didn't do it.

bobby131313....I'm not doubting you...however, "unsearched" rolls is the biggest scam and moneymaker on ebay lately....the chances of it actually being true are about like hitting the lottery...
