This is the same 1897-S Morgan I posted in the other thread (1897 S Morgan - Choosing 1 of 5 Obverse Photos).

I couldn't see the cameo in the photos so I used Acetone and a steam cleaner. What a difference!

Can I get some opinions on the grade?

This is the other thread with the five photos.

That coin looked natural. This one does not.

I agree, you should have left it as it was.

I took this photo outside with natural light.

Using just acetone and steam should not have killed off the coin's luster like this picture shows.

I'm confused...

Was the acetone pure?

The coin does not appear to have a natural look to it. I also agree the luster has been diminished.
Rest in Peace

The previous coin may actually not have been natural if you just used acetone on it.

I have looked at the photographs of the coin before you "spruced" it up and I see luster in many areas in the fields. After the procedure the coin appears to be flat and lusterless. I hope that it is just the photograph and not the coin. You should always save the cleanings and restorations to the experts.

The photo itself was bad. These are better. The cameo is nice but I seem to have uncovered a rather insightly cleaning.
