What's going on with the bottom of the 7, John? Looks like separation.

Nice. I wish I could get photo like images with my scanner. Scanned images look so different from photographs or real-time images. I'm not complaining as no scanner no images to post though I love the photos so many of you post. Good ones!

I get better images of varieties with a microscope. A scanner I use for larger coins to get images to post. Close ups, I use this:

Nice tools of the trade, Coop. I love good tools to work with for hobbies or anything else. That scope looks great.

By the way, I jumped in this thread as I have some 1987 D's that look like more is happening with one or two mint marks too, like some kind of doubling or extra D similar looking to yours. I'll check mine out closerup :) Congrats on your find John1!
