Guys, I bought this one yesterday morning on ebay - deflated my coin collecting budget, but I've been needing one for the longest time - can't tell you how many '94s I've looked at/watched over the past five years I've been collecting Morgans - there've been a bunch of 'em - finally decided to go for it - got it for less than a thousand. I don't have it in hand yet having just bought it, so I used the pics the seller had up. I'm pretty pumped on the one hand, but on the other I'm depressed because I won't be able to buy any more of the coins I need for some time to come - gotta replenish the collecting budget. This one takes me one step closer to completing my set of Morgans - still need the 1893S, but that one won't find it's way into my set for a long time (pretty expensive). I, also, don't have an 1895, but it being a proof coin, I don't really consider it necessary to complete my business strike set. Ralph Edited by Ralph 10/31/2010 12:34 pm

For under $1K, you did good. I don't see any major problems with the coin other than the wear. Details look to be right at VF-20, but with the rim wear on the obverse it might grade a little lower at F-15.

Really need some higher quality pictures. But I'd say a high F/low VF.

echizento - that's what I figured on price too - 945.25 with free insured shipping - figured it might be quite awhile before I find another one that I can afford, so I jumped on it.

canadanz - that's the best I can come up with for now - should have the coin around the middle of next week, and I'll see how it scans out of the plastic -'course, my old scanner is six years old, and don't do so pretty good sometimes, so the pics I posted might be the best I can come up with.

Looks original with that pleasing grey look. Congratulations on a tough Morgan!

Okay guys, I got this old darlin' in the mail today. After I freed it from it's plastic prison, I attempted to take some scans of it - didn't turn out all that well - blame the old scanner, and the old guy tryin' to operate it. It really does look better in hand. To me, the important thing is.....I've got it!! Ralph

Not sure how I did it, but I, somehow, deleted the scan of the slab in my original post, so I'm including it in this one. Ralph

aladinslamp, you're around half way there. I agree the 90s (as well as the CC Morgans) are difficult for alot of us, but I've scrimped and saved for the better part of five years (I live on a disability check from the Veterans Administration) and still could only afford, with the exception of a few, well circulated coins. I've got them all posted in the member's photo galleries here on the forum, if you'd care to check 'em out.....see what my (incomplete) circulated set looks like - not a high dollar set, but I'm okay with that.
