The coin is a 1952 Canadian dollar, and was scanned using my HP PSC 1350 all-in-one scanner/printer.

What do you think of the overall quality of the scan? I personally think that the coin in hand is much nicer than the scans.

In terms of quality, there isn't a thing wrong with your scans. A scanner does not capture luster; it is a tool for showing detail only. In that context, you are doing well.

The coin in hand looks a lot nicer than the scans though. In my hand I can see a lot more detail.
