2 part question:

#1: Is there any good way to get a Dansco album that doesn't include the costly errors/variations spots in the pages? For example in the Buffalo Dansco I probably won't worry about filling the 1937D 3-legged space so I would rather not have it as an empty spot. I don't mind some of the more common varieties in some Dansco albums (lincoln 82 small/large date etc), but I really don't care to shell out for the more costly errors, I would rather buy other nice coins with that money.

#2 If I do get an album and don't ever want to fill those holes is there any good ideas for putting a "plug" or filler in the hole? I know I could just leave it blank but I would rather fill it with a blank plug of some sort than have it empty or put a coin tht doesn't belong in there.

Am I basically going to have to get blank pages and label them myself? I hope not, let's hear for the creative problem-solvers :)

For several of my Dansco's, I have found copper or brass discs of the right diameter on Etsy that I have used to fill the blank spots. Copper for my Lincolns, copper and brass for 2 euro coins.

Yeah its been discussed on here before a few times. No, dansco doesn't make pages without those holes. So yeah, your options are finding hole fillers or blank pages that you label yourself.

I was afraid of that. Any other ideas on hole fillers or plugs?

They do make copies of most rare coins and they are available on ebay fairly cheap.I have a fake 14-D Lincoln in my slot right now....just waiting for a real one.

That is what my grandfather used to do, he would put a coin in that slot showing the other side of the coin. Before I started collecting I thought maybe it was just because he wanted everyone to see both sides of the coin without having to turn the page, but I think it was a reminder to him that if he ever found one that certain spot was available even though the slot wasn't empty

I would rather have the hole in my album than think I supported the people making the fakes

Yeah getting a replica is possible but I don't like the idea of having something fake in my albums. I like the idea of just putting another coin in with the reverse showing.
