I was bored today so I decided to go through the world box pulled these beauties for $0.15 each

1934 George V Shilling (XF-AU)
1915 George V Penny (Fine)
1914 George V Half Penny (Fine)
1861 Victoria Half Penny (Good)

Not bad I say, perhaps I should do this more often.

The local shop here is $0.25 or 5 for a dollar.

The shilling is 50% AU so you did good. That's true for shillings all the way to 1946.

Good search dates for pennies are 1919 and 1918 KN or H mint, 1926, 32, 34, 51, 52, 53
Good search dates for half pennies are 1904, 1926, 1934 and 1953

Of course these are not likely to be an box but you never know.

1934 George V Shilling is a nice pickup for $0.15 since it has 0.0909 silver in it.

The reverse with the lion on top of the crown is a nice design. How about sharing a picture for us?

http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/coins.html is a good reference site for UK coins.
