As I collect my junk silver I always ask myself how do I get the most money out of my coin. If I find it in a roll than most places will do because it is found money. If I buy it from someone and try to scalp a little for myself then price becomes much more important.
Other than trying to find a dealer that will give me the most, is there anywhere else to sell where I might get a little more? Where are the dealers selling their junk silver? Do they send it out to someone who melts or do they just flip it to customers that want the coins? I would list on Craigslist but it could take too long and a move in silver would hurt me. Sorry for the length.

if you get a $500 face amount you can sell it pretty easily for a higher price. California Numismatics publishs their buy sell prices daily based on market shifts - http://www.golddealer.com -- you can also check with a few local dealers. The guys around me seem to pay 2x face less than what golddealer.com is buying at. You might be able to find a local coin show or club to sell at for a higher amount.

As you found it you wont technically loose anything as everything gained is pure profit. Your best bet is to sell on forums or sell to a dealer as those ebay fees are killers

Find someone who doesn't know what the value is I'm just joking What you could do is make rolls of specific years or series, then sell it like that. That might increase the value. It doesn't even have to be rolled; it could be in a lot. I know pennies (cents) aren't related to this, but I saw someone selling over 150 1909 Indian Head cents online. The bid the last time I saw (about a month ago) was around $175. Most of them were in bad condition. Good luck in selling them.

This sort of depends on how much you need money, the amount of JUNK you have, how much you want to spend time and money wise to get rid of it and lots of other things. For me being old, not really needing money, I just dump junk coins back into change. If I don't need it, can't use it, don't want it, it's fun thinking of how someone will get all excited about finding it in change.

just all silver coins you could get, make a collection set, the excess you sell at market rate at any time you want to any collector or dealer. A collector has a passion for coins, for the dealer it is a just a business entity. So try to help collectors by exchanging or selling rather than dealers.
warm wishes.

I agree with the last post.Putting some back into circulation may inspire a child into collecting. This is how I got started in the '60's.On Mondays my mother would take the wash to the laundry mat.She would give us a quarter for a Coke and peanuts.I would take my quarter and play the change machine like the slots!Every time I got some silver I received more change.Ain't life strange.Learned nuther lesson as a kid!Bet today my sister wishes she hadn't ate them peanuts and downed that Coke!BURP!
