A guy at work kept telling me he had "an old half dollar". I was shocked to see him bring in this. I told him the light cleaning (I guess it's light) wouldn't help the value, but that he still had a nice coin.

I still struggle photographing silver. But, can I get your thoughts on details and a rough ball park of what he could get as an OBO?

The details do look close to AU but the cleaning looks harsh in the images. It's a tough one to value because it's an expensive coin if problem free. If you net the value to VF20 you're talking about a $150 coin. This is a scarce date in the Seated Liberty Half series.

EF-45 details, with a pretty strong cleaning. Probably closer to a net Fine-12 due to the severity of the cleaning, but still a $75 item.
