Can anybody help me..... ....I have been searching net for ages and nothing much helps. ebay is always a good starting point. If you are after a book then Kruase guide to world coins is the best. Unfortunatly NZ coins never really attract a good price due to their low demand.

Hi lucky pfennig, If you click on the link below, and then scroll down until you find New Zealand, then click on "New Zealand", it will take you to a screen where you can look up pictures of, and values of, various New Zealand coins. http://www.(131231) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed /index.htm#countries I hope that this website is helpful to you. If this site doesn't show all the coins that you are trying to look up, then I suggest starting a thread for the attention of "Aidan Work" who is a Kiwi and pretty darn knowledgeable, or for the attention of "Sap" who is an Aussie, but has a brain like an encyclopedia when it comes to world coins.

For New Zealand coins, your best bet would be to buy a local catalogue. The advantage of that would be that it would be in New Zealand dollars, and reflect actual supply and demand there on the ground. The one I have was put out by the apparently-now-defunct Pacific Coin Company, in Lower Hutt. It's only a small book (compared to the equivalent books here in Oz); I have the 1997 edition, which is 44 pages and cost me A$7.50.
An Internet search showed the company was deregistered in 2001, so I assume someone else has taken over the mantle of producing a local catalogue. Aidan Work is our most active Kiwi member; he'd know better than I what's available. With the recent currency changeover there, we may see a renewed surge in interest in (and values of) New Zealand coins.

Yes the 2006 Edition of The New Zealand Coin and Banknote Catalogue by Howard Mitchell was released recently and available from the author at 77 The Strand, Parnell, Auckland (PO Box 51 - 515, Pakuranga, Auckland, NZ) or from most other dealers in NZ, and on ebay and Trade Me for under $15.
