How many world coin collectors used to specialize in U.S. coins, but found them unaffordable? While they won't catch up to American prices in the future, the world stuff can be a great value for the low-budget person.

Disagree. Some of the US stuffs are cheaper than what you know. Try Imperial Russian, Korean, Polish coinages, etc and US coins seems to be severely overrated at times.

A type set of these would be impressive:
3, 6, 12 platinum rubles
5, 10, 20 gold korean won
