granny, key in on the 9...the inner loop will bend sharply and point at a spot about 3/4 of the way down the 7...once you have one in hand it becomes clear, but this is a tough one for many people.

I agree large date. One thing I didn't understand about the small date is that most coin dealers around me say they sell them for $35-45 in MS60 grade. It seems that lots of low MS grade ones sell on ebay for $30-50 (usually the ones that sell cheaper on ebay are not even small dates) The part I don't understand is that Numismedia lists them at $19-22 in MS-60 grade. Even a red MS-63 is only $30. I know it is not a common coin but why is the Numismedia price so much lower than what people are selling them for? I am trying to find an AU or low MS small date and they seem to be way overpriced. Am I missing something?

I think Numismedia tends to be undervalued on some Lincolns, even lower than Greysheet bid in some cases. Not really sure why but that has been a point of frustration for myself as well.

This is definitely a large date.
Regarding values...hopefully the project I am working on will solve that issue.

I paid $25 for a nice MS (probably 63 or so) from someone here at CCF.

My project is to come up with a more market appropriate approach at a price guide for Lincoln cents to include all die varieties. I expect to have it done some time around the beginning of next year. It should be ready to include in my next book which should come out around that same time.

Sounds cool coopercoins.
Wow The_Duke, I can't find any decent AU or MS small dates for $25 or less. I haven't been looking too long though, but good find for you! Let me know if you want to find it another home :)

Good thought jokingjoker. I did post that a while ago on there and one small date was pretty beat up (still considered it though) and the other one that was offered was overpriced. I should periodically do that though because I know people are always buying and selling and I have had nothing but good luck trading or buying from people on here.
