In 1947 and 74 two diff style " S " mint marks were used
(using this page as a ref )
http://lincolncentresource.com/San_..._Styles.html

I have a 47-s " the mms-007 " sans serif S
and a 74-s " mms-009 " blob serif S

I cant find any info how how many of the varities were made
for the years that used diff style mint marks for the same year

Are the 47-s mms-007 rare compared to the 47-s mms-004
wich of the two had the most minted ?

Same the with 74-s
is the mms-009
more scare then the mms-007 or vice versa?

thanks for any help

I know the mintmark styles exist for 1947, but I have not studied them.

The 1974S mintmark styles are interesting, because all of the small date coins I know of display the smaller 1971 style mintmark, and all of the large dates display the larger, fuller mintmark. Given this, I am assuming the mintmarks are a 1:1 relationship with date sizes, and those are about 50-50.

The place where it makes a difference is that ALL proofs are large date, but both mintmark styles exist on the proofs.
