I´m not familiar with arab coins from 1800´s so I have no idea of the meaning of the symbol/letter just above my finger.

Any idea?

I would say someone put there initials on the coin.

Definitely a post-mint creation. Looks rather chemical means than physical.
I can't really figure out the symbols, especially the right one. If you flip the pic upside down it looks like a guy is about to break a wishbone with a stick!
