Why does ANACS coins with both a MS grade and PL written on the holder?

For example:

MS-65 (Grade: For Business Strike)
1935 $1 (Year/Denom.) 111111(ANACS Serial Number)
CANADA (Country) PL (Proof Like?)

*The example above was set up like an ANACS Holder, minus the bracket stuff*

Anyways, Would this coin be a business strike coin or a PL?

both,

the PL designation says that its proof quality, but not a proof.

like MS-63PL would be mint state-63 proof like

Thanks,

Another quick question for ya, if you don't mind.

Would you say ANACS accurately grades Canadian coins?

well they grade US coins quite well and the company is greatly respected so I wouldn't see why the wouldn't be able to grade Canadian coins well

If this was a PL graded coin, would it only have the PL grade on it?

Example:

PL-65 (Grade: For Business Strike)
1935 $1 (Year/Denom.) 111111(ANACS Serial Number)
CANADA (Country)

and, are the Business strike coins (Like the one example in my previous post) still worth there business strike value? or less/more?

Really?
Now I am really confused.

Why would a PL be worth more than a business strike in such a high grade? I thought you could get PL coins from sets (which are all high grade, because they are made for collectors) while a business strike is made for circulation so the Government doesn't mind if they are not high MS graded coins.

Just to clarify:

http://cgi.ebay.com/1958-Canada-Dim...ht_986wt_905

That coin listed on ebay right now has both the MS grade and the PL written on the holder. Just like the coin in my example. Is the term "PL" used the same way "Cameo" or "Toning" is used? Is it a comment on the coin?

I really appreciate all the help Adam_E.

well if you bought an MS-64 toned coin off ebay I think there would be a bigger premium for them, the same thing goes for PL.

Oh, so there is a premium on top of the MS grade because of this PL designation?

So my example coin is a PL?

Or is it only a PL if its written right next to the grade?

They make it so confusing...
