I handed out a few business cards to my barber, broker, etc. and got a call from a retired guy in town here. I went to his house at and took a quick look (nothing too exciting) and then he said I can take them home. I will do a quick inventory (he had them sorted pretty well already) and shoot him an offer for the whole thing. Mostly wheats, buffaloes and some sliver. Nothing jumped out, but it will be fun to go through it.
Nice fellow, collected most of the stuff through ciruculation years ago.

Sometimes it is just fun looking at them, but maybe there is something in there worth mention.

I bought the collection today. Lot's of LWCs (some teens, 1922D), few Buffalo nickels, some silver (mercs, Franklin, Walker, 40% Kennedys), Jeffersons (dozen or so silver)and the aforementioned 1886 Liberty nickel. Just think, almost everything was pulled from circulation. This will keep me busy for awhile.

Here is the 1886 Liberty nickel, plenty corroded and pitted, but tough to find.

Ouch! Poor lady. Worth more than $200 in G. Not sure what she would be worth, but definitely a good hole filler.
I am not the expert in conservation, but I wonder if the vinegar experts would attempt to help her out some.

Pending on how much you spent or think you spent on that Nickel, might be worth a try cleaning it up a bit. Not much to loose due to it's condition. Most would say leave it alone but since really poor, not much to loose and you really did OK with the rest of all those coins so might be a sort of expensive experiment. As noted worth about $200 in G4 but that is a real lot worse than G4. Also, if you plan on selling it someone might pop up with I'd give you XXX if it hadn't of been cleaned. Let us know what you do with that one.
