Hi Folks! I think the sellers are the owners of Gallery Grading Company. They sell all the same coins on their website! I guess they are happy with themselves. Mike

Reason number 2 for not dealing with ebay. By allowing such garbage to be used under their name, they indirectly support and condone such activity.

Gallery grading company- where the lowest grade ever geven is MS64, all the lincs are RD, and all the frankies FBL! Bobby, good job finding them- I had googled variouos combinations of "gallery" "grading" "coin" "new Madrid" Mo" etc wiothout finding the site- what was your sercret? They do also evidently "reject" some coins- those BU and CH BU rolls of frankies that were purchased on ebay prior to these two guys selling "slabbed" high MS coins, got recycled into onbe roll decribed as BU and sold on Overstock. Guess there really isn't anything to do about this- but shouldn't the ANA point out to ebay that only coins which are graded by ANA approved standards should be called certified? Don

Interestingly, "gallerycoins" is listed as "disabled" on Overstock. Shadowzen66 and jojax22 have 4 and 5 pages of current coin listings on ebay- GGc in high, high MS. shadowzens has bought 19 rolls of uncirc coins this month on ebay... Don

"Our facility is over 31000 square ft. making us one of the larger coin organizations in the country." What does the size of their Parking lot have to do with being a "larger coin organizations"? LOL The seller points out as proof of quality that this is the grading company’s opinion. What a complete scam. GGC with make a packet of money from the newbies, unwary and uneducated. I'm afraid that this has opened the door and other scam people will now do the same. Thanks for the warning! This is a sad day for coin collectors. Grading companies live off their reputation.Remember the "good old days" when you could trust the Slab grading.

greetings all i joined this forum specifically to encourage all here to report the abuses of jojax22 and shadowzen66 to ebay, as I have done in detail today. I also believe that the website of GALLERY GRADING COMPANY should be reported to law enforcement as well. the website for gallery grading service, sells THE EXACT SAME ITEMS THAT shadowzen66 and jojax22 have purchased on ebay and then listed on ebay. I believe it is purely a front. if one tries to purchase something from the gallery grading website, PAYPAL replies "This recipient is currently unable to receive money." also- THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER FOR THE COMPANY ON THE WEBSITE. so... I CALLED INFORMATION IN NEW MADRID & THERE IS NO SUCH COMPANY IN DIRECTORY ASSISTACE. seems odd for an "over 31000 square ft." facilility to have no phones... as for being "registered with the state of Missouri #19014597" such a statement is completely meaningless gobbledegook.. anyhow, check out the number with the missouri secretary of state's office online and your get "Certificate Number 19014597 was not found" as noted here- the the alledged location of gallery grading company is in the vicinity of where shadowzen66 and jojax22 claim to be located. (actually only about 20 miles from cape girardeau- I used to live in st. louis) the bogus grading service is potentially a very serious means of defrauding the public. if one were to send a valuable coin to the address listed on the site, it would probably be stolen. the site claims "a 48 hour turnaround" which is impossible for a legitimate grading service to perform. also it's empty slabs are easily purchased at any hobby supply shop, and several ebay buyers of jojax22 and shadowzen66 slabbed items have noted that the gallery grading service slabs are poorly sealed, badly graded, and obvious frauds. rather than just discussing this type of activity- TAKE ACTION. it's our responsibility, as informed numismatists, to report these rip offs to any and all authorities. and if I (or you) make a charge that is proven incorrect- no bid deal. if investigated and proven true- we did a good job. thanks for putting this up and the thread about this whole matter. I found you while gathering info to file my ebay complaint. and ebay has been known to shut down frauds. I've reported many with success. they are not 100% perfect, but I think if several people alert them they do take action. I also pused to get the ANA and ebay to work together, as they are (finally) starting to do. thanks agian coin community! marc awodey burlington, vermont "vtcoin"

HI Marc, Welcome! Thanks for letting us know the results of your sleuthing. GGC had been displaced a bit off of my personal ebay "radar screen" until Dan McBride posted this: https://goccf.com/t/132My personal thoughts are that we will have a much stronger case when he has the coins in hand, and can demonstrate that they are grossly overgraded. Even though those of us who have been following this story "know" that it is statstically impossible for these sellers to have this many coins in these stactacular grades (NGC and PCGS pops for many are in single digits or low double digits), and it is highly suspicious when they are purchasing BU or Uncirc rolls off of ebay just a few days prior to sales of Fb, RD, FBL, MS 66s, 67s or 68s- we do not have actual proof that these coins are not graded correctly (even though we "know" they are not graded correctly, if you will forgive me that inaccuracy). At that point we will have a stronger case for action. And I want to act on these sellers taking advantage of trusting buyers! My person opinion only. Don

greetings here is interesting info- it is a matter of public record that the person who established gallerycoins.com is from sikeston, mo. ON A TOTALLY DIFFERENT ISSUE I'm also writing to let fellow collectors know that I just bid 2 cents each on a couple of listings... by two really nice sellers who have certified coins worth THOUSANDS OF DOLLARs for sale- starting at 1 cent each. I like knowing who I'm dealing with so I have gotten the contact info on both sellers. according to ebay's privacy policy the contact information of other members is not to be released, but if one is involved in a transaction from which a conflict may arise, the other party's contact info will be sent to both buyer and seller. but remember- it is not to be made public! if either of my new trading partners writes to me to ask why I got their info i'll let them know that I just like knowing who I am doing business with in case a conflict might arise- but you know, I really don't expect any conflicts. bidding 2 cents on listings is really fun- ALL of you folks should try it sometime. and it's really great to know who your seller is. marc ps. back to the gallerycoins.com issue- I think sikeston, mo is a very popular place to live. it's a very small town, but one of my new best friends lives there too! I wonder if he knows the creator of GCC's website? anyways- I'm now CERTAIN that gallery coin company it a totally legal and respectable new grading service. I've contacted the newspaper in new madrid MO, their HUGE corperate headquarters, to suggest they do a feature story on GCC. since the paper's offices are only about 2 blocks away from 400 main street- i'll bet gallery coin company is really going to be glad to have a story done on them. I sure hope the newspaper likes my idea- I write for a newspaper in vermont, and it's certainly the kind of success story we'd be interested it, so I hope the new madrid weekly record likes my idea. thanks again for all of the info on this thread! if I win my auctions i'll let you know how great the coins are! marc

Hi Marc, look forward to hearing about your coins. If you're up to it- would love pics (Its a bit unfair of me to ask- I haven't figured how to produce and post worthy pics myself...) In case you've missed the backdrop, a new person posted on the board soliciting opinions regarding a 57-D Lincoln he had bought as a present for his father. Well, on sleuthing, it was a GGC graded MS 67 RD (well, allegedly!). LOYO hasn't posted recently, so it is unclear how a dealer who is presumably in PA, ended up with a GGC cent. But LOYO's post here: https://goccf.com/t/706 led to this thread. I'd love to see these guys out of the scam grading business. Don

Well, I got my first three coins from shadowzen66 (graded by Gallery Grading) today and gave them a good look.
First coin is a 1955-S MS-68 RD penny. It looks pretty good, but it's DEFINATELY NOT MS68. If I were to guess, I'd say MS65, maybe.
Second coin also a 1955-S MS-68 RD penny. It looks a little better, but still not MS68. Best of the three.
Third coin is a 1957-D MS-67 RD penny. Imperfection on back. Don't know if this makes it better or worse.
Then I took them over to Shorty at the coin shop. He offered me $150 for the lot, and I turned him down. He wouldn't grade them for me, but I swear I saw stars in his eyes while he looked at them.
Still have five more coins coming. I'll keep you posted.
Dan

that post from dan is interesting. I regret to report that I've been defeated on my ebay reports. I've heard nothing since this: "Thank you for providing us with the details about this situation regarding shadowzen66 & jojax22. We are concerned about violations on the site and have thoroughly investigated your report. In accordance with our site policies, we have found that there is not enough evidence to show that a violation has taken place. We understand your concern about this situation, and can reopen the investigation if any additional information can be provided. We also recognize your initiative in reporting this situation and be assured that the information you have provided is important and will be used for further investigation when the opportunity comes. Your report has also alerted us and will keep us watchful on future possible violations that may occur as related to the members you have reported...." in separate reports I did get 2 very transparent frauds kicked off. I also got nothing back regarding my note to the new madrid newspaper- so maybe someone walked over to 400 main street and found a big building housing gallery coin company? i got outbid on one of my 2 cent bids and i’m not going to raise it. if I win the other i’ll send it to one of you folks who knows about ultra high grade coins. I don’t collect that way. I believe “quantity has a quality all it’s own”... my main interest in foreign anyhow. i do hate to see people get ripped off however...

As I read the previous posts about Gallery Coin, it reminds me of my favorite grading company: Star Grading Service (SGS) which sells primarily through the powerseller Aboncom (who owns and operates SGS). Want all of your coins MS70 or PR70? These are the sellers to go with! Whether it be Gallery, SGS, or Ed's Grading Service better known throughout ebay as EGS. [That's right, I use heavy duty 2x2's, 4 staples with a custom made Avery label with whatever grade you want], the key is to pass the word. Sometimes, I go to the feedback areas where newbies have left positive feedback for these scam artists and alert them to this information. Response has been mixed to outright anger to "mind your own business". They will learn...isn't that what this is all about? I guess we are the smart ones and someday we shall rule the Coin World!
