OK Just picked up 20 rolls of pennies from a new source and looks like I have at least 15 solid rolls of 2010 Shields. Is there any varieties to look for in this year or is it a bust? Has anyone come across anything worth looking for?

Look for the ones without black spots. That has to be one of the harder things.

I'm just kidding, but a lot of them have black spots. Or maybe that's just the ones I find (solid rolls)

ebm. You could search them yourself and find a new variety. There is (I think) a minor doubled die variety that's worth around $0.50 in AU.

Thanks for at least responding guys, bummer on the box bro. I've been through about 6 rolls and nothing. Not a rotation, doubling, anything. They are like clones.

Check out this site. https://www.doubleddie.com You may have to navigate around the site to find info on it, but I do remember there being much info on the shield pennys.

Here's a couple to look for http://coppercoins.com/diesearch.php and I found another that is not listed here,so there are at least three to look for. By the way, I have yet to get a full roll of 2010's. I have been through four and a half boxes so far and have found 6 2010-D's and 46 P's.

centhound. They could be worth something eventually, but that will probably be around the 22nd century, if they can make it that far. They might gain value when the series ends, as they are the first year of it.

I was paying close attention to some 2010s I have. Maybe it's because I can't see that well, with the added fact that I have all kinds of lights shining on the coins as I study them, but I've noticed what looks like doubling on the ONE CENT section (the letters). I think it's mostly the light reflecting off the coin, but if it isn't I'm found about a million of them

Thanks for the links guys.
John1: All these rolls seem to be 2010-D's. Haven't come across a full roll of 2010's yet.

centhound: Will these be worth money? Ha ha, not unless there is a good variety found. IMHO this design will not wear well. I think as time goes by, it will become harder to find the shields with full bands and banner curls. Even on all the new ones you can see wear on the high points and it seems to come quickly.

Interesting side note.... last night I was cracking rolls (clear plastic sleeves) and noticed a roll with a single brown wedged in the roll. Cracked it and it was 49 2010D shields and one 1971-S. LOL. What is up with that.

No one I know would pay more then face value. I would open them all

and search through them. You may find something new and exciting.

Hey, you never know!

I suggest you save a few rolls unopened and if you can choose the ones with heads on one end and tails on the other, they are more desirable. Then open the rest and look for high grades, errors and varieties,IMHO
