I stopped into a local coin shop today. They have gotten in a
2007 John Adams dollar, with double edge letters.

Does anyone have and knowledge or experience with this dollar.
I guess I am hoping to find out what it might be worth, and how
rare (mintage) it might be.

I did do a quick search on ebay, saw some listed for $70 to $200
and up. There is one slabbed in a ICG holder for $37 but I am
not crazy about ICG holder.

I can get the local one for around $50.00 ... any thoughts?

I say go for it for $50. I would hate to have one in a slab, since you couldn't see the edge itself in most cases!

I have been watching these pretty close, you could prolly get a pcgs 65 for pretty close to $50. I would wait on it, also keep n mind that there are 2 types of doubles edge, inverted and overlapped. the overlapped seemed to have a lower pop.
