Alright experts, I beseech thee for your feedback. Found this one in a roll search today. I never even look for errors, but ALL the lettering of "Monticello", "United States of America", etc seemed really fat on the reverse. Can I get your opinions? Sorry for the photos -- best I could do.

By the way, the o's in Monticello look wierd, like an extra internal layer on them, and the other letters are odd under magnification, too.

Do you see distinct notches or folds in the letters? If not it could be deterioration of the die. They do look a bit thick to me.

Sorry...really hard to see much of anything with the picture. Maybe you can get a clearer shot of the lettering?

Extreme die deteriation (sp?) is very common on coins of this era...and appears to be what you have. IMHO.
Rest in Peace

What I would like to see is a clear shot of E PLURIBUS
There does seem to be a dramatic doubling there at the base of the E and PL but it may just be Machine Doubling.
