My job often requires me to walk city streets evaluating the condition of the pavement and curbs. Whenever I see a coin in the street or curb I can not help but pick it up. It is not that I am in need of a few extra cents or nickels, it is just that I can not stand to see them left on the street to be destroyed. Sadly, most of them are already pretty far gone before I come to their rescue. I have a tin at my office that I toss them in and it is nearly full of my "Road Kill" coins. I thought I would compile typical examples into a type set. Here is my "Road Kill Type Set"!

most people dont pick up any of those if they see them which I think is sad, wish a penny was as strong as it used to be in ex. 1920s

I like your road kill set. Maybe you will start a trend. My wife finds alot of coins on the ground too. She has eyes like a hawk.

I too think that is a unique type of type set. With the economy the way it is lately I don't see coins on the ground at all anymore.
Doesn't it make you wonder how those got that way.

Great idea! Get a capital plastic holder and put it on a mount above your fireplace!

Hi SuperDave,
Yes I do. Colorado 14'ers are one other thing I collect. How about you?

I live in flat, flat New Jersey, where the only mountains we have are associated with highway overpasses. The 14's are a pipedream for me, unfortunately, but one that I hold very close to the top of the list. I want very, very badly to stand atop Crestone Needle before I die.

I live in flat, flat Kansas! Amazing you would mention the Needle. I summited it just this summer. If you want to continue this conversation via email send PM.
