I wonder if anyone help me identify the variety of this 1859 1 cent coin? I can tell that it's a narrow 9, but I can't tell if it's a standard 9 or a re-punch or some kind of double strike. It doesn't match any of the examples in the Charlton guide, the 9 is too fat and the end curls up to touch the loop.

Can you provide a close-up of the date?
Also, is there a die crack at leaf #4, (about 2:30)?

First, thanks for the welcome. Been to the site a lot but never had anything to post before. Here is a closer shot of the date. Also, I'm fairly new to this and not totally up to the terminology, do you mean the leaf on the top right just above the T?

Jayson, yes, that is the one I refer to. It appears to have a die crack in exactly the same place as on a die, that I checked. It was suggested you clean some of the crud from inside the loop of the 9. I suspect he sees what I might be also seeing. Clean it in the upper area, and see id there is a raised 'arc" going across the upper 1/3 of the loop.
Dan, or Rob, is this from die R1O-L33, by any chance?
TIA,
Dick

Okay, I cleaned the 9 as best I could. Here are a few photographs I took under a lamp, hopefully the detail shows better than my previous scans. I also included a photo of the leaf you think might be a die crack. Thanks.

Also I noticed that the last A in Canada on the obverse is filled in. Don't know if that's common or not.

Jayson, the crack I thiught I saw on leaf four is not a crack, however, the last A in Canada is a crack. that is most of the reason it is filled in.
Like Dan said, it is a narrow nine. not much else there. Sorry, but we tried!

Thanks everyone, I always knew it was a narrow nine, just didn't know if it was a particular kind, if it had a bolded font or anything. Anyway, appreciate all the input.
