Hi, new to the forum and have my first question. While goin through some old metal detecting finds I noticed a Wheat penny that was missing the last digit on the date. It has the 195_ but no last number. The lettering is crisp and I see no sign of sanding or grinding. It is a S mint. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this type error? As soon as I can get a decent picture I will post.
Any help will be great. Thanks.....TC

Well, it could be many things like damage, or it could be Struck Through Grease. We need a pic to be sure.

Tumbleweed is right. Just to add something: even if it is a Struck Through Grease mint error, this does not add much value (if any at all) to the coin.

I have three of those missing the last digit and one missing the last two...usually Grease Filled Dies and not much added value, but fun to collect.

I've got a cool 1943 steel cent missing the '3'! And one missing part of the '4'! I like 'em and wish they were worth more....but I still like 'em!
