This is my first post and I am kinda excited. When I was first in the Hobby, back in the 60s, nobody thought my "odd" coins were worth saving. I have been reading all that I can.

Is this an example of a Curved Clipped Planchet?

I believe that it is a curved clip. Look directly across the coin from the clip. The rim should look flattened slightly. This is called the Blakesley Effect. Search for that term in the forum and you will find several examples of what I mean. I haven't yet seen it on a Buffalo nickel, though. Nice find and welcome!
