Pictures up on afcom. It's real gold. I was able to drill through the case without hitting the coin. Once through I used a toothpick and rub off the foreign substance. Not sure what it was as I was unable to locate it.

They ( PCGS ) could have done that for you and resealed / re-slabbed it for free. Oh well.

If this was a struck through error, you just destroyed its value by tampering with the substance on the coin.

I read that other thread, and don't quite understand--given that AMPEX offered an exchange.
There was collector value as slabbed, and I now suspect it's down to bullion value.

what the heck is the "Black Diamond" pedigree anyhow? Also I don't understand all the "graded wrong" posts either since this was a struck through error that happened at the mint, it shouldn't take off points
