scoutjim99 Pillar of the Community United States 4589 Posts	Posted 08/31/2006 04:14 am I may be wrong but I would say that it is just a solid D mint mark, with a Cud I would expect to see less uniformity, this one looks like it was meant to be that way, but still quite unusual for a mint mark In my opinion. biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 08/31/2006 11:33 am Definitely not a Cud. A true Cud is caused by a die chip at the edge of the die and will be on the rim of the coin as well. It looks like a MM die chip or gouge. Report this Post to the Staff

madhandles761991 Pillar of the Community United States 577 Posts	Posted 09/01/2006 2:09 pm A filled die error is when part of a die has grease or some foreign material in it, and when it strikes a planchet, it does not imprint a design onto the coin. You can check some of my old posts (dateless penny...) for many filled die errors. This is a good example of a filled mint mark. Report this Post to the Staff
