Hey there!

I have this funny looking coin in my collection. One side is readable, and the eagle-side is totally "scraped" off. Error coin or has someone done this to the coin? What to do you think?

I find it hard to believe that it has been circulated to this worness.. Because it's only on one side.

Any thoughts/help would be thankfull!

I think it could have worn down to that from heavy circulation. It is a very old coin after all.
It looks kind of odd to see the difference from one side to the other, but it could happen that way.

I am sure the experts will chime in with a more exact answer for you.

Yeah I suppose it could have been worn down, but just seems weird that it's almost totally blank on one side. You can hardly even see the rim.

Usually this happens when a has been passed around in high circulation. One side of the coin or in your case the obverse may have been stamped a little harded making it stronger. Maybe it was someones lucky coin and they rubbed it all the time untill the face wore off :)

I agree with trinityqk. The coin has been heavily circulated and the idea that it was a lucky pocket piece makes sense with the constant rubbing of the obverse for good luck.

Alright. Lucky coin.. maybe I should adopt it as my lucky coin and see if there's any luck left in it. ;)

Thanks everyone for input!
