I have seen a lot in life, however I saw some things last night, that I will never forget. rain traveling perfectly sideways. And enough rain to Move my daughter's sandbox 10 feet "with out disturbing the lid" My Truck appears to be slightly moved A couple of inches in the back. Is this for real , Maybe something else is in my coffee. all that and more with out a bit of damage. WOW. Were any of you all affected.

East coast of Florida here. Been through a lot of em in the past couple of years. This was a pretty tame stormn for us. Then again, when Katrina went through my place last year, I didn't even lose power. With Ernesto, the satellite didn't blink.
Hope everything turns out well for you and everyone for that matter.

Ohh agree it was really not much of anything I have bben through a couple bad ones , It was just funny to see some of the things that were moved and with out damage. The one Huricane we had in September of 2003 was a bad one, I just got notice that I had to deploy Had two days to show up from Elizabeth City NC. to Elizabeth Town NC. The hurricane was here already I had a 300 foot tree across my house , and I am PAcking under flashlight conditions, I had already sent my wife and Daughter back to PA. to get away from the storm. I had to re route all the way close to Richmond Virginia and double back, the problem was all the strrets where blocked by powerlines and debris and tree' s . I was proud of my little Nissan Pick up that day. They also made it illegal to be on the road for two day's the 2 that I had to travel, I was pulled over atleast 10 to 15 times , sometimes by more than one cop car. Like I said It was unlawful at the time But also they see a pickup with aload of stuff in the back ( thought I was looting or something. after you go through the whole process with each police officer. then show them Your Orders and ID . And they would let me go, say good luck becarful. Now that was an experience . I dont think we had power for 3 weeks so my wife told me/ Lol

Jim, I thought of you when I read that the storm was near the Carolinas. Glad it's gone now. That's one of ther nice things about living in western Colorado. No hurricanes! Or tornadoes, tropical storms, storm surges, etc. I should amend that. About once every 10 years we get a huge cloudburst. Had one a couple weeks ago, and part of my side yard was washed down the hill. Wwe get eight inches of precipitation a year on the average. The storm mentioned dumped about four inches in two hours. Similar to what I've seen when vacationing in Florida. Maybe Al Gore is right?!

Hey Jim, I've been to your little corner of the world to watch my grandson play ball. Nice community.... Thanks for taking the brunt of it, if anything happened here I slept through it. Looked around this morning, maybe a few extra leaves from my neighbors trees. ps I did survive ice storm 98 up on the NY/Canadian border if that counts.

Hey Jim Glad to hear you made it alright. Not much as for high wind on my side of the county, but did have much rain. Just glad it wasn't a strong one. Been through a couple of those. Don't like'em.

Ernesto had a lot of rain in it for sure. We didn't get much wind though. They said we would be getting 70mph sustained. It never happened. Heck, the beer drinkers down in the Keys produced more wind than that storm did, a least for us. What about Floyd 1999? I think that one put out so much rain that 250,000 hogs drowned in the Carolinas. At least that's were the papers were claiming.

You are right about the weather in Colorado compared with the stuff they are having down south. I was going to say though, so that is what they call a hurricane in Florida. Heck up here its only a nice breeze! Must have something to do with the elevation. As for Al Gore being right, not a chance unless this happens to be another one of his inventions like the internet, or something.
