Another that I picked up at my local dealer for $.04. I bought 1000 wheats from them for $40.

The "6" is there...honest...it's just difficult to capture with a pocket camera and a loupe.

Whoa....I think that's the latest die state 26-S I've ever seen and it has a grease filled 6. Both dies were completely worn out. Interesting coin!

VG-8 (accounting for die states)

Die state and the lack of detail because of die state does not lower the grade of the coin. Grade is just that - an amount of wear, not an amount of strike or detail left on the die.

With that being said, a mention that the details are very soft would be correct to do, and it will affect the marketability of the coin at its grade. The soft strike will keep it from achieving any of the lofty level grades (i.e., F15, VF30, EF45, etc.)

This coin grades VF20. It will market at around Fine money.
