Yeah, I know it's been cleaned...but I only paid $.04 for it.

This one is going to be sitting in a windowsill for a couple of years...

I'm thinking VF20(cleaned), much nicer than the one sitting in my album.
Unreal for 4 cents.

A 24-D for 4C! I'd be happy if this was scrubbed for 4C.

Wow!... four cents... you really scored on that one, regardless of the cleaning! It looks VF25 to me.

Did you cherry pick that out of a junk box or something?

Now that you've disclosed what you paid for it, you gotta tell the rest of the story! LOL! You can't leave us hanging!

OK...here's the rest of the story...

My local dealer sells me wheats for $.04 each when I buy 1000 at a time. This last batch was a good one. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I was able to pull 288 steel cents out of the batch along with this 24d.

I found the 1919P, the 1914S and the 1926S in the same batch by the way. (all of these I've recently posted pics of here in the grading forum)

I'm planning on buying another 1000 from them tomorrow...

Good job! I'd buy all he has if he's gonna leave little cherries like those in them!

The retoning won't help the fact that it has a lot of hairline scratches. it will make the coin look more natural, though.

The grade of this one is VF details, net F. It should market at Fine levels (after retoning, if done well), which is far above the four cents you put into it.

Can I have that dealer's phone number?
