Thanks for that one Bryan....I was just navigating to this thread to complain about the lack of coins with character posted so far....When I used to own some Morgans, many of mine were distinguished by their obvious devotion to service (some of them looked like planchets that had not been to the upsetting machine yet)....I do prefer coins that display a role in history beyond spending the prime years of their lives in a vault...by the way, some of those first coins you posted are simply incredible (almost too incredible)....have you weighed them? How about the magnet test?

Some really gorgeous coins posted so far. Looks like we could capture the world market. Thanks to Ralph for breaking the ice for the rest of us. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1878 CC VAM 45 ( VAM ID'd for me courtesy of Alladin) This one was scrubbed by Grandma with her world famous lye soap just trying to do a good deed. 1878 S 1878 P

inherited this one from my grandmother who got it back in the 1950's. EDIT: I'm posting more detailed scans over in the VAM area for VAM ID (Coin has been identified as a VAM-19)

8TF, fenton? Looks like it. Virtually impossible to attribute without much higher-resolution images of the reverse. The starting point for 8TF attribution are the little feathers between wing and leg.

I love this thread already even though I know its going to be massive by the time we get to 1921. At least today and that last day will be the biggest days I believe
