I have seen some of these on e-bay going for crazy money,,does this coin appear to have been polished,or what would be the give away of a cleaned coin,,last what would this be graded at,,VF?

I would say this half is F15-VF20, so it may slip in at VF
It does not look polished, or harshly cleaned, but it probably is cleaned (dipped)
The color is too even for a coin with the amount of wear this coin has, especially around the devices
flagging it as a cleaned coin.

The 1949-S Franklin is the key of the Franklin business strike series so it does command a premium in all grades. I would grade it VF but I have a question about the provided images- are they scans or photos?

I think it just makes VF20 myself maybe F15
It lacks lines on the bell.
