Let me know what you think this grade is. It has blazing luster and ultra eye appeal.

That coin would be a solid MS67RD without the weakness on the reverse. I personally would grade it MS67RD, but PCGS won't give it that grade because of the weakness.

MS-66 seems about right does not have the hammered strike of a 67. Lovely coin overall.

I'm assuming that the gash through the stairs leftover from the planchet? I've never understood why, with this series, that the remnants of planchets are so disregarded. With Washington's, they're all considered contacts.
What's with the "swipe" above the C and E of Cent?
Very clean, attractive cent!

I'm a perfectionist, but other than that hit on the Memorial steps that baby is a 68 or better for sure. Sweeeet!

That's just a plain old hit on the steps. There's no "swipe" above C and E....optical illusion.

What is on the leftmost pillar on the reverse? Is that on the image or is that on the coin?

I'll say 66RD but wouldn't argue with a 67 grade. Despite a few blemishes highlighted by the size of this photo, the coin is near-perfect.

GOOD EYE! That's on the coin. When I found this coin there was a small spec of verdigris there. I added a drop of VC, rubbed it gently with a toothpick and it came right off but it left behind that stain.

I finally got around to trying out that bottle of Verdi-Care you gave me over the summer - good stuff! Brought a couple of coins back from the brink!
The front of that 84-D is drop-dead gorgeous. The hit and the stain hold the reverse back, so I think this one probably ends up a 66RD. Of course, we are looking at giant pictures too...and I've been wrong before.
