I am possibly going to an auction Saturday night. I noticed on their website that there will be some $1 bills marked as "No Motto" Can anybody tell me more about these?

Just pre- 1957 series $1 notes. I think all of them should be 1935 silver certs, right? Since FRN $1s weren't printed until the 60s.

1935-G silver certificates were the first to have "In God We Trust" motto on the back. Most were printed without it, but the ones that have it are more valuable. So usually when someone says "no motto" they are referring to this G series.
