Was unsure which thread to put this in so if I'm wrong please move it mods

Found this on the iPlayer last night and watched all 4 episodes.
(for people outside the UK the link may not work depending on your region - sorry cant do anything about that)

Its, well, interesting but it doesn't show The Royal Mint in a very good light, so far we've had:

A sales team almost missing a deadline for a tender they have had years to sort out. The handing over of an important delivery to a Congo official in a car park having missed the original meeting.

A Fez wearing David Brent style head of African sales who always seems to say the wrong thing and his wife who seems more interested taking about her personal life than her job.

Foundry staff who seem to have come straight out of 1970s episode of On The Buses.

Some truly awful Coronation Street commemorative coins, a pretty awful William and Kate coin and some hideous Congo coins.

The best bit bar far though is when they claim the Congo coins are so bad because the Congo officials did not provide good enough photos of the subjects, have they never heard of Google picture search?

Certainly worth a look, even if it is from behind a cringe.

Yeah, I'm getting a message "Not available in your area"

Well, I think the the RM has been having problems for a while, with designs for sure, and I guess with the production too.

I'll keep on the lookout, the videos should become available through one channel or another (YouTube to the rescue!).

Augsburger - were you the guy who designed one of the Olympic 50 pences? I think I saw it in a different thread here a while ago?

If it is you I must admit I'm a bit jelious! The 50p bit of the documentary was the only good bit so far, they interviewed a Welsh woman who also designed one, she seemed genuinely happy and gave a good interview.

svslav - If I find it uploaded to an international site I'll post the link.

Thanks!
I even tried to install the iPlayer offered on the BBC's site (which took almost half an hour). But while it has no problem playing radio programs it won't let me play or download videos. Still same message, "Not available in your area"

I am in the UK and I don't bother with iplayer from the BBC....since living out in rural England we suffer from slow ADSL connections.

Must have only been shown in Wales....since I don't recall seeing it listed in my BBC region.

Two things struck me about the program, A) don't ever work for the congelese govt, they will never be happy, and B) the designs on paper of some of the olympic 50ps. Mine was done with a pencil, the ones shown on the program were all done on computers by designers, with the exception of the football one which was done with PC paint and word.

But I can't believe that no one said that the engagement protrait was awful, it so obviously is!
