Hi. I'm constantly going through boxes of cents, and this is the first possible 72 DDO I've found. Do you think its "it"? I don't want to get too excited as I'm sure somebody (probably plural) is going to tell me its Machine Doubling. Thanks!

If you send it to me I could see it better and tell you for sure. Of course it just might get lost in the mail. Really nice find. Sure wonder how it got into change for so long without being found. You really did great there.

tennlee, yes it is a double die, but since nobody said it yet,it's not the major 72 double die (001). There are over 9 different ones for 72. Not sure why, but I've found three this year.Only one in as good condition as yours though. Any double die is a nice find though !

Have you identified which one? The -002 has a very nice premium if you canfirm that this is one.

I believe that's 1972P-1DO-002, a nice and pretty valuable doubled die. Congrats!
