Well, that's Dave Harper's blog so it's more than likely true.

But, will this be for "the better".....or "for the worse" ? Or, will it just be the same continuance (business as usual) as with "Moy", but just with a different/new person this time? And remember....Congress has as much OR MORE blame for all of this stupidity than whoever the Director of the Mint happens to be at any given time. Congress does direct the Mint on what to do or (mint). All of these "ideas" come from "up high"..... not the Directors desk ! ......

Well, if Congress is running things we should be good - they can't get much of anything accomplished!!

Hopefully all the noise from angry mint customers is raising eyebrows and getting things FINALLY noticed at the higher levels.
Well, I can pretend, can't I?

Don't forget that Congress dictates what the Mint does. Blame them.
The Director is pretty much just a figure head.

okiepb- I think Congress has been doing a lot of good work these past few weeks... seems they have gotten more done in that time than in the previous year or so.
As for the US Mint Director- Congress I would think has to approve the appointment of the new person whoever that may be, but I'd like to see someone who is a collector with administrative experience. And hopefully a director that will oversee quality control better and do a better job of making the stuff collectors want. And handle the release of new products in a better fashion. We'll see, I'm interested to see who it is that get's appointed.

Yesterday it was announced that Mint Director Moy will leave his post to become a VP at L & L Energy Inc. as of January 2011. Shares of the company (LLEN) plunged over 10%.

He left for greener pastures, not pressure from above. I never believed he stepped down because he did a bad job.

Please forgive my lack of knowledge, but what about this mint director is bad that some are happy he is exiting his position? Secondly, what could a new director do to improve upon the old director's shortfalls?

In short anything that happened that collectors didn't like they blamed on Moy even though in most cases he had nothing to do with it. For that same reason most likely any replacement will find himself in the same collectors crosshairs. In the time I have been collecting I have seen several directors come in to great hopes and the collectors celebrating when they leave. For the most part none of them except Stella Hackel Sims deserved it. And for the most part she was not disliked for the right reasons.

Thanks Conder.....Not having been around CCF for very long I thought maybe there was something specific. I understand the general feeling of dissatisfaction in an entity and by default it's leader. However, without suggesting an improvement, it does little good to complain.
Regards,
Carl
