PCGS 64: Bought this the other day and found that I already own a bunch of these. While looking under the microscope, I found interesting variations in MMs and the date. What do you think? Is it a VAM 17? (Hope the pics turn out well.)

perhaps you can get some close ups of the date and mint mark? for each of your threads...also this coin doesn't appear to match the MM of 17 as 17 though not stated , is titled..

I'll try. There appears to be an interface problem between my Nikon transfer program and my photo crop program.

1881-s is a horrible year as there are TOO MANY descriptions and TOO FEW photo's
My thoughts of the reason why is......1881-s was one of the best struck years..I personely think its so well struck that the grade has always been more of a focus than any errors it may hold..to the point that most are attributed as I2R3 meaning no big deal...not many really
big glamored varieties for this year....so no one really posts many pictures of non influential vams, and That I think is an atrocity...
weather a coin is full of interesting features, or not. they have been assigned a VAM number and even that they be common, I feel they should have pictures to authenticate coins the readers and studiers of vamming should have to conclude they have the common coin, instead of some OBSCURE desription......
