How do you open your bank rolls .
I came up with this method a few months ago ,the old way I was doing it was killing my fingers and the other way of cracking the roll open got on the wife's nerves
So I came up with this method and works great if you dont mind really small wrapper pieces on the table but its a fast way of doing it .
Get a pair of diagonal cutters and a few brw's and your good to go

How-Do-You-Open-Your-Bank-Rolls-?

Where the wrapper meets up together at the seam cut each side

How-Do-You-Open-Your-Bank-Rolls-?

Unroll and push the wrapper apart from each other

How-Do-You-Open-Your-Bank-Rolls-?

Note the small piece of wrapper thats what I am talking about with the small wrapper pieces ,The method works for me and I just figured I would share it with everyone

i take my pocket knifes can opener (the sharper one) and but like you do on the edge. I usually have to scratch the top coin but it is fast and when you have 50 bank rapped half dollars there is no other way

Wire cutters...not a bad idea! I wear a rubber glove on my right hand when roll searching. I use a utility knife and it seems the gripper portion rips the thumb of my glove.

I smack it in the middle against the edge of the table. LOL My wife used to complain too, but she got used to the sound eventually. LOL

I no longer just smash them together like I used to. Not since the day I pulled a cherry RPM and discovered a nice rim hit. Now it's needle-nose and just pull gently on the crimp ends.

I've been doing this for yrs. I use a small screwdriver. The style that's about pen size and has a clip to fit in your shirt pocket.

I pick the ends and turn the roll. I can open the roll nice and clean, it's very quick to open and I don't damage any coins.

I slowing pull the ends of the roll up until one side is completely unrolled. Then I dump the coins out, sort them, and if I have to, I put them back in the roll. It takes forever to open, but I have the time since I don't really search a whole lot (at least four rolls a week, if I can get them).

well sometimes I smack the roll against my bed to crack the wrapper, or I bend the roll in half, and usually I just peel around. probably not the best methods I use but hey it works!
