I really like this nickel, but that bronze spot I find very distracting... I really want to purchase this (as it's the last War Nickel I need in BU), but I'm up in the air...

Personally, for that price, I would pass. I think you should be able to find a nice problem free coin for the same cost. Just be patient.

I think you're right, I was hoping to get someone else to say that though ;)

I think it is over graded. Besides the toning spots I count two nicks on the obverse and three n the reverse and those toning spots look like they could get darker. In ten years will there be a carbon spot show up? It is also overpriced by a lot. You should find a no brain-er for that price. Given the doubts you already have is a sure sign to pass. There will be more 44 D's.

Others have already said it. I would have asked, which mark? I see 3 reasons not to buy it at that price.

Wheezy, if you don't feel like going into detail here could you at least PM me on your spare time. I'd like to get some wisdom - What makes you think that the toning spots would turn darker? I'm not doubting you, I'd just really like to know so I can keep an eye out for stuff like that in the future. In case this coin were at $10 or something.
