I'm not sure whats going on with the numbers,1879-S with a 79 Reverse.I would say a strong MS63 with possible MS64 depending if the deduct for the light cheek hits.Another beautiful coin.Is there a large hit going accross the bottom of her neck or is that reflection?

That IS a hit. Its barely noticeable when looking at the coin in hand. I didn't notice it until I had taken the pic.

I wasn't sure about the numbers either. Hoping Bryan comes along shortly.

The numbers and mint mark do look doubled but my VAM book dosen't show anything about it,I'm sure Bryan would know. The reverse is just beautiful! 65 range I believe.

although not in the book, it seems it may be a VAM-59 (of course I am not 100% sure) but here is what it says about it

59 III229 · C3r (Doubled 879, S/S Lower Loop Tilted Left) (185) I-2 R-4

Obverse III229- Doubled 879 in date. Slightly doubled 8 at top outside and lower inside of upper loop, 7 at very top and right side and 9 at left side of both loops.

Reverse C3r- Centered IV S mint mark doubled and tilted left with curved line in middle of lower loop.
